Camp 2021 is cancelled. We hope to see you in 2022!
Need a highlight for your summer? Find it at Tree of Life Lutheran Bible Camp, a one-week summer camp in the beautiful Sierra foothills! Our program is for both children and teens, from those just starting grade 4 to those just out of high school. We offer a week of Bible study, Christian fellowship, and just plain fun in God's great outdoors.

Dear Friends of Tree of Life Lutheran Bible Camp,
It is once again my unhappy duty to advise that the TOL Board of Directors has voted to cancel this year's camp.
In March of this year, the Board fully intended to conduct camp, but since that time there have been many different developments that caused the camp cancellation decision. There are many factors that led to this decision: staff volunteer shortage, low camper interest, and most difficult to navigate — the Covid 19 situation.
Regarding Covid, TOL participating members held many different opinions about how to manage the situation. It became very clear over the last couple months that not only were the government's recommendations and regulations in a state of extreme flux, so were our own members' strategies. Generally speaking, two groups formed — a "conduct camp business as usual" group and a group that wanted stricter precautionary measures.
Who is right? Who is wrong? Personally I don't think it's as simple as "right or wrong", as there are valid points on both sides of the argument.
One inescapable fact is this: strict precautionary measures would mean that it would be extremely challenging to run a youth summer camp, especially considering the close proximity that staff and campers would be in for the entire week (sleeping accommodations, communal dining, shared swimming pool, and the like).
When the entire set of circumstances was considered by the Board — staffing issues, camper interest, Covid — though it broke our hearts to vote yet again on such a drastic action, the Board felt that the best thing to do was cancel the 2021 TOL camp.
This is a major disappointment. But, we will have faith in God's promises, that He works all things for the good of those that love Him. Therefore, let us believe that God will work this situation to our benefit, too.
So, stay resolute fellow Christian TOLers! This is not the end of camp. Christ Jesus will sustain us, He will keep us anchored to Him, and as with all other things of this world, this situation won't last. TOL absolutely intends to conduct camp in 2022. For now, just think of this as TOL being closed for renovations. So when 2022 rolls around, totally plan to be at camp — because we certainly will be.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Thanks for your time. Thanks for your TOL support.
Respectfully, your brother in Christ,
Chairman, Tree of Life Lutheran Bible Camp

Fees will probably be the same in 2022 as planned for 2021: $475 for the first child in a family, $290 for each additional child, and $140 for each Little Lamb aged 4-7 (ages 3 and under are free). Senior campers (grades 10-12) are charged an additional $15 to help with the cost of the overnighter and Senior party.
Snack bar cards are available in $5, $10, and $15 denominations, with a $15 maximum per camper. We recommend at most $10 for Juniors and Intermediates. Campers with snack bar cards do not need money during the week, and we discourage bringing it. Unused portions of snack bar cards can be refunded at the end of camp.
Registration and fees are due three weeks before the first day of camp. Please register online. Late registrations are accepted when space is available. Please telephone or email to reserve a space if your registration will be late.
Donations to camp are gladly accepted! They will be used to help keep our fees affordable for families. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, and your donations are tax-deductible. (Note that camper fees are not donations and are not deductible.) Thrivent members can direct Thrivent to donate to camp through the Thrivent Choice program.
